It follows Rupert Campbell-Black and Tony Baddingham as they have a long-running rivalry that comes to a head. Coincidentally, Aidan Turner had previously filmed at Chavenage House (The Priory in Rivals). The same location was also used to film Trenwith House in the 2015 BBC TV adaptation of Poldark. Absolutely incredible: the wit, the innuendo, the humour, the characters, the 80s accuracy, the cast, the locations; it’s perfection in a TV show. This kind of TV has been lacking for at least the last decade; it has it all: sentimentality and joy, tears of laughter and sadness, nostalgia on steroids and a cast that plays their parts to perfection. I don’t have a bad word to say about this show. Hats off to the writers, actors, crew and everyone else involved. This is the second time I’ve seen it because there are too many clever lines worth remembering that I might have missed the first time. Bravo!
