CIA operative Jo tries to balance her personal and professional lives as the spearhead of the agency’s war on terror. Real military advisors helped create a more authentic performance of weapons handling, clearing houses, location, group actions, etc. d.
After the disappointing season 4 of Jack Ryan and all the other weak shows, this show was much better in every way. It looks really well done and the action/combat walls look great. Great acting from everyone.
I feel like most of the criticism of this show in the comments section seems to boil down to how unrealistic it is because of this whole history of female operatives, and I personally have nothing against good female acting, which is an original IP. Also, I haven’t seen any red flags yet, like every man seems incompetent or anything like that. Also, I initially thought it was going to be a more serious show with action, but then they got a little more into the family, and that usually bothers me, but I didn’t like what they did there.
My only criticism is that the plotting of this particular crew of writers is very limiting to the plot and could kill it by going beyond the plot/villain of the season… it needs to be more comprehensive so they can make a new, more intense v “Motherland” dynamic, otherwise it risks becoming too episodic, like “The Black List”. P.S.
But from what I’ve seen so far, the show could stand on its own with Zaldani without any other A-list stars. TLDR Overall, cautiously optimistic, but I like what I’ve seen so far, everything is incredibly polished and well done. It’s an entertaining show, although some commentators don’t seem to like it as a History Channel show.
