Four children make a mysterious discovery on their home planet that leads them to become lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. The holographic circus that entertains Neel’s young siblings is the same Chewbacca family watch in the infamous The Star Wars Holiday Special (1978). in Crazy Cartoon Cast AniMat: Silly Old Deadly Bear (2022). I watched the first two episodes and although there is a clear effort to create "goonies in space" show me what’s wrong with it? This is a much different take on the story existing in the Star Wars universe. I enjoyed the look and feel of what a suburban town looks like in this world because we’ve never seen it. The town they’re from reminded me more of E.T.’s neighborhood than anything we’ve seen at shows recently. The four main characters are typical but enjoyable, each with clearly defined roles in the group and played well by the actors. The pirate vibe isn’t necessarily something we’ve seen before, and it adds a bit of a creepy element and air of danger. If this was an 80s movie, it would fit right in. So far I’ve enjoyed it because of the new elements of storytelling in the Star Wars universe, the hints of nostalgia of my childhood movies, and the fact that I can share this Star Wars experience with my kids.
