Hellboy and a rookie B.P.R.D. agent are sent to the Appalachian Mountains in the 1950s, where they discover a remote community ruled by witches and led by the sinister local demon, the Crooked Man. The budget is said to be $20 million, the lowest of all four adaptations.

It’s very low-key, low-budget, and like a Shudder streaming exclusive that you like but will never watch again. It’s heavily based on horror and supernatural stuff, as a Hellboy movie should be. It needs a better director, some better actors, and the story needs to be reworked.
I’d love to see a sequel, they’re hinting at a 60s theme (it’s set in 1959), but this movie will be a flop since I only just noticed it came out and I pay attention to that sort of thing. I liked the last one, so what do I know? The final season of What We Do in the Shadows is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
