Scenes from the 1965 Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island, where Bob Dylan first performed his electric guitar in public, were filmed on the waterfront. The resort town of Cape May, New Jersey. Minimal compensation was required, given the resort’s commitment to National Historic Landmark designation for its concentration of Victorian architecture, as well as other 19th- and 20th-century architectural motifs.
